Christmas Ornament Cheese Balls

What holiday celebration is complete without a cheese ball?  These Christmas ornament cheese balls are super simple to make and pack a pretty presentation.

The gorgeous red balls are Cranberry Pecan Cheese Balls and the green balls are Black Olive, Garlic and Pecan Cheese Balls. The recipes call for a short list of ingredients and each recipe will make two large balls.  Don’t forget the Rolo candies for the ornament top!  Let’s get creating!

Christmas Ornament Cheese Balls

The red cheese balls are Cranberry Pecan and the green cheese balls are Black Olive, Garlic and Pecan. Each recipe will yield 2 balls.

Ingredients
Cranberry Pecan Cheese Ball
  • 1 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 8 oz. mild cheddar, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups dried cranberries, finely chopped
Black Olive, Garlic and Pecan Cheese Ball
  • 1 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 8 oz. mild cheddar, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 1/2 cup chopped black olives
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1 bunch parsley, finely chopped
For Top of Ornament
  • 4 Rolo gold wrapped candies
Instructions
To make the Cranberry Pecan Cheese Ball
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread chopped pecans on a baking sheet and bake for 3 minutes. Let cool.

  2. Mix softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, pecans, Worcestershire and salt. Form into desired number of balls and wrap each in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for an hour.

  3. Remove from the refrigerator, unwrap and press handfuls of the chopped cranberries into the top and sides of the cheese ball. Re-wrap and refrigerate until serving time.

  4. Add a Rolo candy to the top of the cheese ball.

To make the Black Olive, Garlic and Pecan Cheese Ball
  1. Mix softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, pecans, black olives and garlic. For into desired number of balls and wrap each in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for an hour.

  2. Remove from the refrigerator, unwrap and roll the top and sides of the cheese ball into the chopped parsley. Re-wrap and refrigerate until serving time.

  3. Add a Rolo candy to the top of the cheese ball.
